New Beginnings | Women making a difference
Social Enterprise is a recognised means of harnessing local talent and potential as well as nurturing a small business culture. RED has designed this training programme for those who are thinking of setting up in business or becoming self employed.
The purpose of this Programme is to improve awareness of the opportunities that exist in non-traditional areas of work, (especially self-employment/business start up), for those who experience social exclusion and multiple disadvantage through barriers such as access to childcare/care, poor transport, lack of local jobs, low wages and low entrepreneurial skills.
A concentrated and long term developmental approach gives people thinking of social enterprise/business start up, the level of practical assistance, peer support, advice and guidance needed to take the first steps. This may be provided on the job or in bite-size chunks and ideas generation is ongoing. This approach has been proven to increase aspirations and lead to increased entrepreneurship.
